India Baja 2018 – What All Should I Know?

India Baja is back in its third consecutive edition that promises even more adrenaline, harder challenges, heightened fun, but most importantly – increased support to the contestants! That support and guidance is aimed at facilitating you to perform to your optimum potential, while simultaneously also getting you the best exposure to the international format of off-road racing, thereby nurturing your off-road racing career in a manner unheard of as yet in India.

Let’s take a look at what all you have access to in this season of the India Baja:

1. Navigation Training by Experts: Columbus didn’t need directions as, apparently, he had a lot of time on his hand. That’s a luxury you can’t have while racing, so you would need directions along with training on how to follow them. Yes, this time, we are giving both. All participants will receive a complimentary (and mandatory) training on navigation by an expert. We aren’t disclosing who though! This training will be immensely helpful to all participants, especially Moto racers, irrespective of their experience in rallying. To reiterate the importance of navigation, let us tell you that all the top motorcycle riders in the Dakar this year had lost their way at some point or the other!

2. Rent Roadbook Readers from us: Excuse the alliteration there; that was the simplest way of informing you that you may rent a roadbook reader from us this time. We have five units of the state-of-the-art F2R RB730/B with us and you may use it during the race to avoid losing time in stopping to manually check the roadbook. By the way, the placement of this point and the one above in this article is no coincidence. The navigation in the India Baja 2018 will be tougher than the toughest you might have experienced till now…

3. Arrive & Drive: As the name suggests, we’ve made this package where you just have to arrive and drive, simple. In other words, if you’re someone who does not have, or wish to bring, their own rally-prepared vehicle, but want to participate in the India Baja, we will provide the vehicle to you. Not only that, we will also provide a full-fledged service team, and a host of other facilities which you may check in detail in the Arrive & Drive section, which is under the “Competitors” tab of this website. Participants coming in from the Gulf, we have even better news for you: the temperatures during some stages might touch or even cross 50 degrees Celsius. So you’ll feel at home.

4. Direct Entry to Dakar, Merzouga, and Desert Storm rallies: We weren’t exaggerating when we talked about giving you international exposure and nurturing your career. At India Baja, not only do you learn the international off-road race format, you may also get to live your dream of participating in Merzouga and Dakar rallies absolutely free of cost! That’s what the top placed motorcycle rider gets as the winning prize. And it doesn’t stop there. The winners of each category get free entry to the Desert Storm!
